Lytham St. Annes
Lytham St Annes is a coastal village around 25 minutes from Queensgate Caravan Park. There are a range of activities and points of interest for you to enjoy including Lytham's landmark windmill which now houses an exhibition of the town's history, Lytham Heritage Centre which has an exhibition of local amateur works and Lytham Hall which is a Grade One listed Georgian building. The Lowther Pavilion holds a variety of events throughout the year including musicals, plays, shows, exhibitions and concerts. The Ribble Estuary runs right by Lytham and provides the ideal place to see a wide range of birds.
Blackpool
Blackpool is around 20 minutes from Queensgate Caravan Park and has many attractions including the Pleasure Beach, Sandcastle Waterpark, Blackpool Zoo, Blackpool Tower, Sea Life Centre, Madame Tussauds and the Illuminations. There are miles of sandy beach to enjoy as well as the Great Promenade Show featuring the world's largest mirrorball. The Grand Theatre and the Winter Gardens provide a range of entertainment including pantomines, concerts, musicals, ballets and opera throughout the year and there are many varied places for food and drink including coffee shops, bistros and restaurants.
Cleveleys
The coastal town of Cleveleys is around ten minutes from Queensgate Caravan Park and makes an ideal day out for all of the family particuarly since the Seafront has recently undergone a £20 million renovation. There is the beautiful beach to explore with an award winning promenade with contemporary artwork, iconic architecture, innovative lighting and a pavilion. There is also the Jubilee Gardens which has a children's play area and grassland areas. There are many restaurants and cafes as well as a state-of-the-art cinema and a recently opened ice rink.
Fleetwood
Fleetwood is around 20 minutes from Queensgate Caravan Park and is a seaside town which provides stunning views out to Morecambe Bay. The Marine Hall is a venue offering many shows and concerts throughout the year and Fleetwood Museum provides a wealth of maritime history. The Freeport Fleetwood Outlet Village and also the Fleetwood Market provide a range of shops and stalls.
Garstang
Around 15 minutes away from the Caravan Park is the town of Garstang, the world's first Fairtrade town, which has a variety of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants along the High Street and a weekly market every Thursday. Garstang is on the banks of the River Wyre and is near to the Forest of Bowland with a wealth of wildlife and provides the ideal location for outdoor activities including country walks.
The Lake District
The Lake District, England's largest National Park, provides a wide range of outdoor activities including walks for all abilities and mountain biking to explore the mountains, valleys, lakes and forests which the Lake District provides. There are many towns and villages to explore including Kendal, Keswick, Windermere as well as historic sites and museums including Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum.
There are delighful country walks and riverside walks with fishing, golf and crown green bowling nearby. In the village there are numerous pubs and shops, restaurants and and an excellent fish and chip shop. There is a market in Great Eccleston every Wednesday and a farmers market is held once a month. There is an internet cafe in the village where you can surf the net.
